IME to market former piano showroom

For years the Edinburgh Piano Company supplied concert pianos to many musicians, including Frank Sinatra, Van Morrison and Luciano Pavarotti. Now, following a final auction of the businesses remaining instruments, IME has been instructed to sell its former home.

The property, an extensive showroom and warehouse extending to over 6,200 sq ft, is on Joppa Road only a short distance from the bustling thoroughfare of Portobello High Street.

Benefitting from private car parking to the front and roller shutter access directly to the warehouse, the property would lend itself to continuing as showroom premises or may suit alternative uses.

Subject to gaining the necessary planning consents there is redevelopment potential, too, with the site extending to approximately 0.24 acres.

"This is a substantial piece of property which may suit an owner occupier or a private developer, so we're sure there will be  interest from a number of different angles," commented IME managing director, Iain Mercer.

The opportunity is being marketed at offers over £400,000.
