A bumper summer of deals for IME
It may not have been the best summer in terms of the weather, but for Edinburgh’s newest and fastest growing independent commercial property agency it has been a case of ‘making hay while the sun doesn’t shine’.
In a successful summer, IME Property has concluded in excess of £1m of property transactions on behalf of clients.
These involve a wide-range of sales in Edinburgh, including a guest house at 67 Gilmore Place, a former restaurant at 13b Dundas Street and retail units at both 55 Bread Street and 63 Mayfield Road.
IME has also enjoyed a strong summer in terms of leasing transactions, including structuring a deal in which the leasehold interests at 33 Morningside Road were assigned to the bedroom furniture specialist Sharps for their first outlet in the city.
Another notable contract was completed at 21 Argyle Place, where a rent of £14,500 per annum was agreed on a new 10-year lease with business start-up Deadly Donuts, a deal that is sure to be popular with the surrounding student population.
IME Property Managing Director Iain Mercer is delighted with the ongoing success: “IME is proving itself to be a versatile operator in the market, transacting a range of properties across the Edinburgh area.
“Despite the traditional summer downturn, we’ve noticed an increase in activity with more and more people buying into the IME brand and our positivity,” added Mr Mercer.
In a further development for the firm, it has just launched the marketing campaign for a ‘unique development’ at 43/45 Comely Bank Place where a developer client is creating a highly specified 3-bedroom townhouse. It’s on the market at offers over £345,000.
