Ian spent the first part of his working life in the preservation industry. When he reached the grand old age of 45, he retired, selling up his business. However, this retirement was short lived as, utilising his expertise, he decided to build up his property portfolio. He is still committed to 'preserve the world we live in'. Now the "Credit Crunch" has changed the world we all live in he has felt the need to respond; opening up the operation of IME to include residential letting, sales and management in addition to the long-standing commercial agency operation that has been IME's foundation in the past.
As the property market is evolving, Ian remains committed to ensuring the IME's clients always receive the very best deal possible. In addition, Ian believes firmly that what sets IME apart from other companies is our genuinely high level of service and professionalism, whether selling, letting or advising our clients - we do it better than anyone else. Our commitment to excellence is shown by the numerous professional accreditations already gained by the company and he is strongly of the view that this provides our clients with peace of mind, knowing that we set the bar for all property companies.

Managing director Colin has more than 10 years' experience in the residential property market, primarily in terms of letting and management, Colin has brought a new dimension to IME by introducing residential letting, management and sales divisions. Having purchased development properties of his own as well as being a landlord himself, his knowledge of the sector is second-to-none.
Colin's ethos is to present a fresh and positive service, offering a high-level of professionalism to all clients. His mindset is always to treat people and react to situations in the way you would want to be treated
As well as being a specialist in residential letting, Colin has excellent property marketing, refurbishment and upgrading experience and is our resident authority on HMO legislation.
In his spare time, Colin enjoys football, going to the gym and most importantly, spending time with his wife and young son.

Calum joined us after completing his Bsc (Hons) degree in Property at The Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. Calum's remit is to assist with the day to day running of the business, with specific responsibilities for property inspections, viewings and inventory preparation.
He believes passionately in providing a professional and friendly service to all clients and is immaculately presented at all times.
Calum is a keen sportsman and lists golf, football and rugby as his hobbies.

Tabbi manages the IME office, overseeing lease signing, maintenance and ensuring that the office runs smoothly. With superb experience in both residential letting and estate agency, Tabbi brings first-class customer service skills and an excellent level of professionalism to the company.
Always willing to go the extra mile, Tabbi is as comfortable carrying out viewings as she is negotiating lease contracts. Her versatility is integral to the success of the company.
When she's not in the office, Tabbi absolutely loves karaoke and can often be heard belting out her favorite tunes in her local bar!

With over 40 years' experience in the building and property industry, Colin Snr provides consultancy and proactive maintenance services to the residential team. Formerly with Edinburgh University, Colin's experience of dealing with student accommodation means that nothing shocks him when it comes to investigating remedial works! Away from work, Colin is a keen golfer and can often be found on the fairways of Kingsknowe Golf Course.

After moving to Edinburgh in 1999 Carol has excellent experience in financial services and the letting industry. She has worked at the sharp-end of the business for two of Edinburgh's most well-established agents. Carol brings first-class customer service and organisational skills to IME and there is no doubt she will become a great asset.
In her spare time, Carol is a fitness-fanatic, who enjoys running, going to the gym and Zumba.

Gillian is a former Civil Servant who, by the ago of 20 together with her architect husband Martin, had purchased her first below market value (BMV) development project from Ian McDonald. From that point in 1982, Gillian had the bug for property investment.
With expert guidance, Gillian has gone on to do considerably more in terms of both residential and commercial development projects; building a very successful and profitable property portfolio in the process.she has spent 10 years working as a relocation consultant, sourcing property to buy or rent on behalf of individuals and corporate clients from the UK and abroad. During this time she worked with a variety of letting and estate agents, building up an extensive network of contacts within the industry.
Given the growing competition for BMV properties, Gillian recognised the opportunity to join forces with IME and tap into their wealth of contacts that has been built up of the years.
The property investment market is a very competitive one, however Gillian's outlook is very much that when it comes to making one of life's biggest purchases, you should have experience on your side! Both Gillian and IME have walked the walk (and indeed the plank!) for many years and have a long-established track record of being at the cutting edge of the property business; both recognise that the housing market is a very changed place but have the forward-thinking approach needed to survive and prosper. There has never been a better time to buy, despite negative news reports, the rental market continues to grow as fewer people can afford to buy; making affordable housing an essential market and a worthwhile investment.
Paul has over 20 years experience in the Financial Services sector, primarily in Banking, Investment Management and Independent Financial Advice. Paul has the dubious honour of being a Chartered Banker and a Graduate in Financial Services. Paul has also specialised in recent years into Property Management, Property Investment, International Property and Pension Property Investments. Paul is also himself a Landlord of many years, and has developed property for his own portfolio in recent times.
Paul is a firm believer in providing solid, trustworthy and reliable service to all of his clients, all of the time. Having long term experience of managing clients for many years, integrity is assured in all aspects of Paul’s work with his clients.
Paul adds a financial services, and property industry dimension to complement expertise of the rest of the team here at IME.
In those few hours when Paul isn’t working, he has a ridiculous passion for cars and all things car related – sadly!
